The work of grounding a dream in daily reality is especially important in teaching the unconscious mind to trust that you are listening and will respond accordingly. Recording your dreams will also assist you in organizing and following the transformation of symbols and the groupings of symbol clusters over an extended period of time.
Recording the Dream
Date:_______ ~ Time:_____
Dream Narrative:
Record the dream as quickly as possible upon awakening with as little physical
movement as possible.
Setting/Environment:
(Indoor/outdoor, structure/landscape, season, time of day/night)
Colors:
(Any outstanding colors or lack of color...note the objects associated by the color.)
Imaginal Landscape:
(Indoor/outdoor, structure/landscape, season, time of day/night)
Figures:
(human or exhibiting human like qualities/ animals: Describe their prominent features
or lack of features, build/body posture, apparel/wardrobe, comments/conversations,
do you know them in daily life?)

External Changes:
(Record any recent changes in attitude/emotion/behavior/personal circumstance)
Asking the Questions:
- What gift/message have I received from this dream?
- What will I do today to ground this dream's gift in my daily life?
- What will I do today to verify some component of the dream?
